Receiving Your Order

Do I need to be home to sign for delivery? What if I’m not available?

Yes. An adult age 21 or older must be present to sign for all wine deliveries.
If no one is available, the carrier will typically make up to three delivery attempts.
For convenience, we recommend shipping to a business address where someone can receive and sign during business hours.

How We Ship

How does Overstock Cellars ship my order?

We ship using a combination of UPS, FedEx, and trusted national and regional carriers, depending on your location and the most efficient delivery method available.
This allows us to deliver wine reliably across the U.S. while maintaining proper handling standards.

Are there any shipping restrictions?

Yes. Due to legal requirements:

  • We cannot ship to P.O. boxes or APO/FPO addresses
  • An adult (21+) must be available to sign for delivery.

For the most reliable delivery experience, we recommend shipping to a business address when possible.

Do you ship year-round?

Yes, we ship year-round.
However:

  • Orders are not shipped on weekends or major holidays
  • During periods of extreme heat or cold, we may temporarily delay shipments to protect wine quality

Our priority is ensuring your wine arrives in proper condition.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship to most U.S. states where legally permitted.
Shipping availability may vary based on state alcohol regulations.

Delivery Timeframes

How long does delivery take?

Most orders arrive within 1 to 7 business days after shipment, depending on your location.
You will receive tracking information as soon as your order ships.
Please note:
Orders to New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, and Rhode Island may take up to three weeks, as they are delivered via consolidated carriers.

Damage & Problems

What if there’s an issue with my order (damage, breakage, etc.)?

If there is any issue with your shipment, please contact us promptly.

  • If there is visible damage at delivery, notify the carrier and contact us immediately
  • We will arrange a replacement or appropriate resolution

We stand behind every bottle we offer.

Managing Your Shipment

Can you hold my order for future shipment?

Yes. We can hold your order in our climate-controlled warehouse:

  • Up to 90 days at no charge
  • Additional extensions available upon request.

This is often the best option during extreme weather conditions.

How do I track my order?

Once your order ships, you will receive an email with tracking information.
You may also log into your account to view your order status and shipment details.

Gifts

Can I send wine as a gift?

Yes. At checkout, simply enter the recipient’s name and address.

  • An adult (21+) must be available to sign.
  • You may include a gift message during checkout .
Will pricing be included in a gift order? Can I include a note?

Gift shipments include a packing slip showing contents only—no pricing information is included.
To add a gift message:

  • Enter your message at checkout, or
  • Email us with your order number and message.

We’ll include it with your shipment.

Local Pickup

Can I pick up my order?

Due to state laws and alcohol regulations, customer pickups are not permitted.
All orders must be shipped or delivered.
