93 Points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar • 93 Points Vinous • 93 Points Wine Spectator • 92 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Kosta Browne 2012 Kanzler Vineyard Pinot Noir is an elegant, highly acclaimed single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast appellation in Sonoma County, California. Sourced from the renowned Kanzler Vineyard near Sebastopol, this exceptional wine showcases the complexity, concentration and refined character of cool-climate Russian River Valley-area Pinot Noir.
The 2012 vintage delivers expressive aromas of blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, violet, rose petals, lavender and blood orange, complemented by subtle mineral and spice notes. The palate is rich yet beautifully balanced, offering layers of dark berries, black currant, fig, cinnamon and savory herbs, with silky tannins, vibrant freshness and a long, elegant finish.
Established in 1996, Kanzler Vineyard benefits from the cooling influence of the Petaluma Gap, with morning fog, afternoon breezes and an extended growing season. Planted to Pinot Noir clones 115, 667 and Pommard, this former apple orchard produces wines celebrated for their depth, purity and luxurious texture.
