The 2019 Realm The Tempest is a rich, polished Merlot-driven Napa Valley Bordeaux blend inspired by the great wines of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine brings together exceptional vineyard sources throughout Napa Valley, with the Cabernet Sauvignon coming from Realm’s Houyi Vineyard on Pritchard Hill.
Lush and expressive, the 2019 delivers layers of black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, plum, dark chocolate, licorice, tobacco and exotic spice. Full-bodied and beautifully textured, it combines ripe, velvety tannins with vibrant freshness, impressive purity and a long, perfumed finish.
Awarded 97 points by James Suckling, along with 96 points each from Decanter, Jeb Dunnuck and Vinous, the 2019 The Tempest is a compelling expression of Napa Valley Merlot—opulent and powerful while retaining remarkable balance and energy.
