Renato Ratti 2019 Marcenasco Barolo DOCG Piedmont Italy
Renato Ratti 2019 Marcenasco Barolo DOCG
The Renato Ratti 2019 Marcenasco Barolo DOCG is a refined and age-worthy expression of 100% Nebbiolo from La Morra in Piedmont. Marcenasco is Ratti’s historic flagship Barolo, first produced in 1965, and is known for its combination of elegance, balance, structure, and classic Piedmontese character.
The 2019 vintage opens with alluring aromas of rose, red cherry, strawberry, dried flowers, cinnamon, clove, leather, and savory spice. The palate is firm yet beautifully balanced, offering ripe cherry and wild berry flavors layered with dried tea, forest floor, cedar, white pepper, and licorice. Vibrant acidity and integrated tannins provide structure and length, making this a compelling Barolo for both near-term enjoyment and continued cellaring.
The grapes are hand harvested, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with approximately three to four weeks of skin contact, then aged for about two years in large oak barrels, followed by approximately one year of bottle refinement.
