Renato Ratti 2019 Serradenari Barolo DOCG Piedmont Italy
Renato Ratti 2019 Serradenari Barolo DOCG
Description:
The Renato Ratti 2019 Serradenari Barolo DOCG is a limited-production, single-MGA Barolo from the high-elevation Serradenari vineyard in La Morra, Piedmont. Made from 100% Nebbiolo, this inaugural 2019 vintage showcases the site’s combination of altitude, south/southwest exposure, and classic La Morra soils, producing a Barolo with remarkable perfume, freshness, and structure.
The wine opens with expressive aromas of wild cherry, tart red plum, dried violet, lavender, tobacco, orange peel, and savory herbs. The palate is elegant and finely layered, combining ripe red fruit with notes of bay leaf, clove, balsam, tea, and crushed limestone. Vibrant acidity and firm, refined tannins provide excellent structure and a long, persistent finish.
Only 6,000 bottles were produced, making this a particularly distinctive and collectible Barolo. The wine was hand harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with approximately 3–4 weeks of skin contact, followed by about two years of aging in a combination of French oak barriques and 25hl oak barrels and approximately one year of bottle refinement.
