The Sea Smoke 2022 Southing Pinot Noir is an elegant, beautifully crafted estate-grown Pinot Noir from the prestigious Sta. Rita Hills appellation in Santa Barbara County, California. Produced from the acclaimed Sea Smoke Estate Vineyard, this exceptional wine showcases the complexity, refinement and distinctive cool-climate character that have made Sea Smoke one of California's most sought-after Pinot Noir producers.
The 2022 vintage opens with captivating aromas of fresh strawberry, Montmorency cherry, geranium and delicate baking spices. The palate is beautifully layered, delivering vibrant red berry fruit, subtle floral notes and refined mineral complexity. Fine-grained tannins, refreshing acidity and a silky texture create a harmonious, sophisticated Pinot Noir with an elegant, lingering finish.
Crafted from hand-harvested estate-grown Pinot Noir grapes, the wine undergoes meticulous sorting, gentle destemming and a five-day cold soak before fermentation in open-top tanks. Following 14–18 days of maceration and gentle pressing, the wine is transferred to barrels and ultimately bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its natural purity, texture and complexity.
