The 2017 Altesino Montosoli Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is a highly acclaimed single-vineyard 100% Sangiovese from Montosoli, one of Montalcino’s most celebrated cru sites. Produced in limited quantities from Altesino’s historic Montosoli vineyard, this exceptional Brunello displays remarkable concentration, balance and freshness from the challenging 2017 vintage.
Rich and beautifully complex, the 2017 reveals layers of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, dark cherry and pomegranate accented by violet, wild herbs, leather, tobacco, iron, tar and mineral notes. The palate is concentrated and refined, with fine yet structured tannins, impressive freshness and a long, complex finish.
Awarded 97 points by James Suckling and 95 points each from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator, the 2017 Montosoli is an age-worthy, collectible Brunello that showcases the distinctive elegance and power of this historic Montalcino vineyard.
