Château Bélair-Monange 2012 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Bordeaux France
95 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate | 95 Points Vinous | 94 Points Wine Spectator | 94 Points Wine Enthusiast
The 2012 Château Bélair-Monange Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is an elegant, highly acclaimed Right Bank Bordeaux from one of Saint-Émilion’s historic estates. Owned by the Moueix family, Bélair-Monange occupies exceptional limestone and clay-limestone terroir near the village of Saint-Émilion. The 2012 vintage is especially significant as the first to incorporate fruit from the historic Château Magdelaine vineyard.
Predominantly Merlot, the 2012 offers layers of blackcurrant, plum, black cherry and kirsch accented by lavender, licorice, truffle, spice and crushed limestone. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is dense yet refined, with polished tannins, beautiful minerality and a long, elegant finish.
Awarded 95 points by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate and Vinous, along with 94 points from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, the 2012 Bélair-Monange is a sophisticated, cellar-worthy Saint-Émilion combining richness, balance and classic Right Bank finesse.
