The 2017 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is an exceptional 100% Sangiovese from one of Montalcino's historic producers. Despite the warm, dry 2017 vintage, Andrea Costanti produced a remarkably elegant and focused Brunello, combining ripe fruit and concentration with vibrant acidity, polished tannins and classic Tuscan character.
Expressive layers of Marasca cherry, raspberry, plum and dark berries mingle with violet, blood orange, licorice, tobacco, wild herbs, earth and mineral notes. The palate is structured yet refined, with juicy red fruit, savory complexity and fresh acidity carrying through the long, balanced finish.
Awarded 97 points by Wine Enthusiast and called “one of the stars of the vintage” by Decanter, the 2017 is particularly noteworthy because Costanti did not produce a Riserva that year, allowing the estate's top material to strengthen the Brunello bottling.
