The 2017 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is an exceptional 100% Sangiovese from one of Montalcino's most respected historic estates. Sourced from high-elevation vineyards in northeastern Montalcino, this acclaimed Brunello combines the richness of the warm 2017 vintage with impressive freshness, elegance and structure.
Expressive layers of red cherry, blackberry, raspberry and plum mingle with rose, violet, lavender, cedar, licorice, wild herbs and limestone minerality. The palate is rich yet beautifully balanced, with velvety tannins, vibrant acidity and concentrated fruit leading to a long, savory finish.
Awarded 96 points by James Suckling and 95 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, the 2017 Fuligni is particularly noteworthy because the estate did not produce a separate Riserva that year, incorporating its Riserva-quality fruit into this Brunello. A refined, highly rated and cellar-worthy expression of classic Montalcino Sangiovese.
