Jean Foillard 2022 Morgon Cuvee Corcelette Beaujolais France
Jean Foillard 2022 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette
Description:
The Jean Foillard 2022 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette is a vibrant, terroir-driven expression of 100% Gamay from one of Beaujolais’ most respected producers. Certified organic and crafted in Foillard’s traditional low-intervention style, this cuvée combines lively red fruit with mineral freshness, elegant tannins, and impressive precision.
The wine opens with energetic aromas of fresh red berries, cherry, floral notes, spice, and mineral character. On the palate, bright acidity and svelte tannins create a beautifully balanced texture, while a lightly spiced finish lingers with remarkable persistence. The 2022 vintage is both approachable and age-worthy, with a recommended drinking window of 2025–2035.
Hand-harvested grapes undergo whole-cluster fermentation for 3–4 weeks, followed by 6–9 months of aging in used oak barrels and a 30-hectoliter foudre. The wine is unfiltered and made without added SO₂ during vinification, allowing the character of the Gamay and Morgon terroir to shine.
92 Points Vinous – Praised for its crisp, energetic bouquet, lively red fruit, svelte tannins, bright acidity, harmonious structure, and persistent lightly spiced finish.
