95 Points Connoisseurs' Guide • 93 Points Vinous • 92 Points Wine Spectator • 91 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Kosta Browne 2013 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir is a rich, beautifully structured single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the renowned Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County, California. Sourced from the celebrated Garys' Vineyard, established in 1997 by Gary Franscioni and Gary Pisoni, this exceptional wine showcases the concentration, elegance and vibrant acidity that define premium Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir.
The 2013 vintage delivers expressive aromas of dark plum, black raspberry, boysenberry, pomegranate, blood orange and exotic spice, complemented by floral notes and subtle creamy oak. The palate is dense and plush, offering layers of wild berries, ripe cherry, cola, savory herbs and earthy minerality, supported by bright acidity, polished tannins and a long, lingering finish.
Crafted exclusively from the Pisoni Clone, the wine was fermented with 19% whole clusters and aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, 46% new. The result is a concentrated yet refined Pinot Noir that beautifully expresses the distinctive character of Garys' Vineyard.
