The 2017 Realm The Tempest is a luxurious Merlot-driven Napa Valley Bordeaux blend inspired by the great wines of Pomerol. Composed of 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, this rich, polished red showcases the purity, balance and vineyard pedigree that have made Realm Cellars one of Napa Valley’s most sought-after producers.
Deep and expressive, the 2017 The Tempest delivers layers of blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, violets, licorice, chocolate, espresso and spice. The palate is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with silky tannins, vibrant freshness and a long, perfumed finish. James Suckling awarded it 96 points, while Jeb Dunnuck praised its exceptional purity of fruit and seamless balance with a 94-point rating.
