The 2020 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli DOCG is a highly acclaimed single-vineyard 100% Sangiovese from Montosoli, one of Montalcino’s historic cru sites. Altesino has vinified Montosoli separately since 1975, producing a distinctive Brunello celebrated for its concentration, mineral character and refined elegance.
Rich and beautifully defined, the 2020 reveals layers of blackberry, black cherry, Amarena cherry and dark berries accented by violet, leather, balsamic herbs, graphite, licorice, orange peel and crushed stone. Full-bodied and polished, the palate combines plush yet structured tannins with excellent freshness, chalky minerality and a long, savory finish.
Awarded 97 points by James Suckling and 96 points each from Luca Gardini, Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator, the 2020 Vigna Montosoli is a collectible, age-worthy Brunello showcasing the distinctive character of this legendary Montalcino vineyard.
