The 2018 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is an elegant 100% Sangiovese from one of Montalcino’s historic producers. Combining the approachable character of the 2018 vintage with classic Brunello structure and freshness, this refined Tuscan red offers impressive balance, depth and aging potential.
Expressive layers of dark berries, red cherry, raspberry and blood orange mingle with notes of violet, dried flowers, hazelnut, chocolate, licorice, tobacco and earthy spice. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is graceful and polished, with fine, integrated tannins, fresh acidity and clean mineral character carrying through the long finish.
Awarded 95 points by James Suckling and The Wine Independent, along with 93 points from Jeb Dunnuck and Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, the 2018 Altesino is a beautifully balanced Brunello offering both immediate appeal and excellent cellar potential.
